Where should bamboo wood flooring be/not be installed?
This type of wood is a versatile and durable flooring product. Furthermore, it is stunning, useful and universally known. Bamboo wood flooring has multiple uses in construction, from building exterior rafters and walls, to roofing tiles and doors.
Where can bamboo wood flooring be installed?
This kind of flooring can be installed in almost any room (above or below the ground, over wood, OSB – Oriented Strand Board, and existing vinyl flooring). Bamboo wood flooring does not scratch or wear as quickly as other varieties of hardwood flooring. Bamboo wood flooring can successfully be installed in places with high foot traffic like corridors and living rooms. Furthermore, other great areas for installation are offices, schools, studios, hotel lobbies, auditoriums, conference halls and restaurants.
Where bamboo wood flooring should not be installed?
We want to remind you that bamboo wood is naturally moisture resistant because of its tropical nature. Part of its manufacturing process includes lamination which serves the purpose of increasing the resistance to moisture. Locations prone to excessive wetness are not recommended for bamboo flooring. Bathrooms, washrooms, saunas, enclosed porches or verandas, or anywhere that may require wet-mopping are not places where bamboo wood flooring should be installed. Swelling and warping can be caused by extended exposure to moisture.
